The invention discloses a protection method for an automobile tail gate controller. The protection method comprises the following steps: detecting a power supply voltage after the tail gate controller is powered on; judging whether the power supply voltage is power supply voltage or reverse electromotive force; and if the power supply voltage of the tail gate controller is the reverse electromotive force and the reverse electromotive force reaches the reverse breakdown voltage of the MOS tube, the two ends of the supporting rod motor are controlled to be conducted to the ground to release the reverse electromotive force. According to the scheme, the tail gate controller and related electrical components can be effectively protected, the stability and safety of the system are improved, and the after-sale cost is reduced.
