The invention provides a large-size ceramic core and a preparation method thereof.The large-size ceramic core comprises a body, and raw materials of the body comprise a first component and a second component; the first component is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 0.01 to 85 percent of ceramic powder and 10 to 16 percent of plasticizer; the ceramic powder contains silicon dioxide or/and aluminum oxide; the second component comprises graphite and polypropylene fiber; the mass content of the graphite in the raw materials is 10-15% of the mass of the ceramic powder, and the mass content of the polypropylene fibers in the raw materials is 0.5-1.5% of the mass of the ceramic powder. According to the large-size ceramic core, the body takes the ceramic powder containing silicon dioxide or/and aluminum oxide, the plasticizer, the graphite and the polypropylene fiber as raw materials, the apparent porosity can reach 35-40%, recrystallization and hot cracking of a casting caused by too high strength and poor deformability of the ceramic core at a thick and large position can be avoided, and meanwhile, the depoling efficiency is improved.
