The invention discloses a wall decoration thermal insulation material and a preparation method thereof. The wall decoration thermal insulation material comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-50 parts of cement, 50-80 parts of quartz sand, 10-20 parts of fly ash, 4-8 parts of expanded perlite, 3-6 parts of hollow glass beads, 10-20 parts of zeolite powder, 2-5 parts of sodium carbonate, 5-10 parts of calcium silicate, 0.2-0.4 part of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, 0.5-1.5 parts of a foaming agent, 5-10 parts of mineral pigment and 60-100 parts of water. According to the wall decoration thermal insulation material, through selection of the raw materials, on the basis that the expanded perlite, the hollow glass beads, the sodium carbonate and the zeolite powder serve as filler, a pore structure can be formed in the wall decoration thermal insulation material, meanwhile, a better thermal insulation effect can be achieved under the assistance of calcium silicate, and in addition, the wall decoration thermal insulation material is good in thermal insulation effect. According to the invention, by limiting the dosage of each raw material, the prepared wall decoration thermal insulation material has certain mechanical properties on the basis of having excellent thermal insulation properties, and further can better meet market requirements.
