The invention relates to the field of building materials, in particular to vegetation concrete and a preparation method thereof. The vegetation concrete is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 75 to 85 parts of aggregate, 9 to 16 parts of cement, 1 to 3 parts of hemp straw, 0.01 to 0.05 part of polycarboxylic acid high-efficiency water reducing agent, 0.005 to 0.015 part of hydroxy carboxylic acid retarder and 0.01 to 0.05 part of coal ash. According to the invention, the problems of water absorption and water retention of the plant-growing concrete are improved, the hemp straws are effectively utilized, waste is turned into wealth, and agricultural organic matters are recycled.
