Automatic parking system and automatic parking method
An automatic parking system and an automatic parking method are provided. The automatic parking system includes a camera processor that acquires an image around a subject vehicle, converts the acquired image into an external image, and synthesizes the external image. A sensor processor measures a spacing distance between a subject vehicle and a surrounding vehicle. The parking space recognition unit periodically receives the spacing distance and the external images, and compares the continuous external images with the spacing distance using an image recognition technique to recognize a parking area. The controller calculates a movement path between the current position of the subject vehicle and the optimal parking area, and operates the subject vehicle based on the movement path.
