The present invention relates to a control system for a construction machine and a control method therefor, comprising: a bucket control valve for controlling the supply of hydraulic oil to a bucket cylinder provided to operate a bucket; a vehicle control unit that applies a current value to the bucket control valve to control the bucket control valve; a pilot cut-off switch for controlling the cut-off of a pilot hydraulic pressure for controlling the travel or operation of the vehicle and transmitting the cut-off to the vehicle control unit; and a bucket control lever that receives a signal from an operator and transmits the signal to the vehicle control unit.
