The invention discloses a glass curtain wall installation structure which comprises a base layer framework, the base layer framework comprises a longitudinal keel and a transverse keel, a connecting rod is arranged on the surface of the longitudinal keel, baffles arranged in parallel are arranged on the two sides of the connecting rod, and adhesive tapes are bonded to the surface of the longitudinal keel on the outer sides of the baffles; the glass unit is placed in a mounting cavity defined by the longitudinal keels and the transverse keels, a plurality of guide grooves are formed in the inner wall of the baffle, and the guide grooves are obliquely arranged; the pressing plate comprises a U-shaped main body and pressing edges which are symmetrically arranged on the two sides of the U-shaped main body, locking rods which are symmetrically arranged are arranged on the two sides of the U-shaped main body, and one locking rod corresponds to one guide groove in position; and the decorative cover is arranged above the pressing plate. The invention further discloses an installation method of the glass curtain wall installation structure. Compared with the prior art, the problem that a pressing plate is loosened in installation and potential safety hazards are caused due to installation and disassembly of a decorative cover plate in an existing glass curtain wall is solved.
