A multi-story building structure comprising pillars (1) and at least one horizontal structure (5) made of engineered wood, comprising an upper horizontal layer (10) and a lower horizontal layer (20) made of engineered wood segments which are structurally adhered together, structural continuity is provided at least in longitudinal and transverse horizontal directions (LD, TD) throughout the horizontal structure (5), and the upper horizontal layer (10) and the lower horizontal layer (20) are separated in the vertical direction and rigidly connected by an array of intersecting longitudinal and transverse vertical ribs (31, 32); wherein the thickness and/or the bearing capacity per square centimeter of the upper and/or lower horizontal layers (10, 20) gradually increases or increases in a stepped manner as approaching the vertical through-hole (3); and/or along with approaching the vertical through hole (3), the thickness, the bearing capacity per square centimeter and/or the approaching degree between the continuous longitudinal vertical ribs (31) and the continuous transverse vertical ribs (32) are gradually increased or increased in a stepped manner.
