An actuating device for a vehicle door handle assembly, in particular an inner door handle assembly, is made in a multi-component injection molding process, in particular a two-component injection molding process. The actuating device has a carrier part made of a first plastic material and a decorative layer made of a second plastic material, which decorative layer is integrally connected to the carrier part in particular, and has a first region facing away from the user in its rest position in the intended use thereof, the actuating device has a first region facing the user, which forms at least in some regions a rear surface which a user of the actuating device grips from the rear upon actuation thereof, and the actuating device has a second region facing the user, which forms at least in some regions in particular a visible region of the actuating device in its rest position, in the first region of the actuating device, in which the decorative layer completely covers the carrier part, and in the second region of the actuating device, the decorative layer completely covers the carrier part. And wherein the decorative layer covers the carrier part over at least 50% and preferably at least 75% of the area of the second region of the actuating device.
