The invention discloses an automatic drainage and ventilation system and method for a cable trench. The internal state of the cable trench is obtained; judging whether the internal state reaches a preset management state or not; if the internal state reaches a preset management state, generating a corresponding control signal; and according to the control signal, controlling the exhaust device to start exhaust, controlling the drainage device to start drainage, and wirelessly transmitting a cleaning signal to a remote monitoring terminal so as to clean foreign matters in the cable trench. Wherein the internal state can be set according to actual application, so as to prevent a cable protection layer from being broken, further damaging a line insulation layer and endangering the safety of electric power facilities due to long-time operation of an electric power line soaked in water, and particularly prevent organic matters in a cable trench from generating inflammable gas in a humid environment, accumulating to a certain degree and easily causing fire and explosion. Therefore, accumulated water in the cable trench can be drained in time, the good air state of the cable trench is maintained, and the early-stage preparation time of operators is shortened.
