The invention relates to a suspension bridge cable clamp hoisting construction method. The method comprises the steps that main cable erecting construction is conducted; a temporary restraining device is installed between the portal supporting cable and the main cable, and the portal supporting cable is pulled down to the designed position; the crane for hoisting the cable clamp is moved to the designed position of the cable clamp of the main cable through a winch, and the cable clamp and the main cable are fixed; and dismantling the temporary restraint device. According to the method, before the main cable clamp is installed, the temporary restraining device is firstly used for pulling down the portal supporting cable to the designed position, a restraining point is provided for the portal supporting cable, the calculated span of hoisting and walking of the crown block on the portal supporting cable is reduced, then vertical deformation of the portal supporting cable caused when the crown block walks on the portal supporting cable is reduced, and the safety of the crown block is improved. The aerial operation height of the traction system is reduced, and the cable clamp is convenient to hoist and install.
