A MULTI-STOREY APARTMENT BUILDING AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING SUCH BUILDING
A multi-storey apartment building includes a plurality of apartments. Each apartment includes a framework comprising at least two opposed wall structures, a ceiling structure20and a floor structure18. Each said structure comprises an inner covering layer, an outer covering layer and an enclosed void between the inner and outer coveting layers that extends substantially continuously through the floor structure, the ceiling structure and the opposed wall structures. An insulating material fills the void and forms an insulating layer that extends substantially continuously through the floor structure, the ceiling structure and the opposed wall structures of each apartment. The apartments are stacked vertically in the multi-storey apartment building. The framework may be formed by trusses each comprising a pair of parallel beams and cross members connecting the beams. Reinforcement members48,50may extend between the apartments and may extend through the void and be encased by insulation material.
