METHOD FOR SEALING A SEALING LAYER AGAINST EDGE OF THROUGH HOLE AND WEDGE RING USED THEREIN
A method for sealing a sealing layer (7) against an edge of a drainage aperture of a duct by using a clamping ring (1), and the clamping ring used therein. A clamping ring is formed out of a circular frame ring (11) and expansion ring (12) connected to each other by means of mechanical locking means (14). This way the clamping ring has, at the time the sealing begins, a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the drainage aperture of the duct. When guided in the drainage aperture, the frame ring and expansion ring of the clamping ring are pressed against each other by tightening the mechanical locking means (14). As a result, the frame ring (11) and expansion ring (12) pressing against each other cause a radial expanding deformation of the clamping ring, and the clamping ring presses the sealing layer against the wall (8) and/or a sealing ring (23) therein.
