The invention relates to a metering device for discharging defined doses of a flowable material (12a, 12b), having two cylindrical bodies (14a, 14b), the interior of each of which forms a cavity for receiving the flowable material (12a, 12b), each cylindrical body (14a, 14b) having a first open end (16a, 16b) and an opposing discharge opening (18a, 18b), the metering device (10) further having: two pistons (20a, 20b) each for axial introduction into the first open end (16a, 16b) of a cylindrical body (14a, 14b) in such a manner that the flowable material (12) is displaced by the pistons (20a, 20b) and is pushed out of the discharge openings (18a, 18b), the device having elements for ensuring that a defined dose of the flowable material (12a, 12b) is discharged through the discharge openings (18a, 18b) of the cylindrical body (14a, 14b). To this end the metering device has, in every piston (20a, 20b), stop elements (22a bis 22g) that can be pushed in in the radial direction and are arranged with an axial distance to one another, wherein, in the not pushed-in state, a stop element (22a) extends in the radial direction beyond the inner diameter (i) of the cylindrical body (14) thereby forming a stop for the respective edge (24a, 24b) of the cylindrical body (14a, 14b) that surrounds the open end (16a, 16b); specifically in such a manner that the piston (20a, 20b) cannot be introduced into the cylindrical body (14a, 14b) beyond this stop, and in the pushed-in state, a stop element (22a) does not extend in the radial direction beyond the inner diameter (i) of the cylindrical body (14), and therefore the piston (20) can be introduced into the cylindrical body (14) beyond this stop element (22a).
