The invention relates to an attachment device (10; 110), in particular a roof tent (10), for installing on a vehicle roof. The attachment device (10; 110) has two device sections (12, 14; 112, 114) which can be moved relative to each other and which extend transversely to the vehicle roof in particular when the attachment device (10; 110) is installed. The attachment device (10; 110) additionally has drawing means (24; 124; 224; 324) which are operatively connected to the two device sections (12, 14; 112, 114) in a mechanical manner. By pulling the drawing means (24; 24; 224; 324), the two device sections (12, 14; 112, 114) move towards each other. The invention additionally relates to a method for closing an attachment device (10; 110).
