Ground surface access assembly arrangements
A manhole ground surface access assembly arrangement 40, the assembly including a frame 12 defining an opening 14 and a securing arrangement 20 extending from the frame, the securing arrangement being formed of a thermoplastic material. The securing arrangement may extend substantially around the frame. The frame includes an upstanding wall part 24 and a flange part 26 which extends outwardly from the wall part. The securing arrangement may be bonded to the frame by a thermal process. The thermoplastic material may comprise bituminous binder and/or asphalt. The assembly may be located in a hole defined in ground support material. An interlock recess 36 may extend inwardly above the flange part. The securing arrangement may define one or more communication passages 48 which communicate with a fill space 34 below the assembly. The securing arrangement may define one or more distribution channels 52 in communication with the fill space below the assembly. The arrangement may include at least one cover member 16. The frame may be formed of metal such as cast iron. The assembly may include settable material formed of a thermoplastic material, located in the fill space. The settable material may melt to fuse with the securing arrangement.
