A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A mortar laying device 1 comprises an open substantially rectangular shaped hopper 2 which includes two longitudinal side walls 3 and two end walls 4, a longitudinal planar base section 5 substantially the width of a block and supporting the hopper 2. The side and end walls are inclined upwardly from the base section. The base section 5 comprises a slidable tray section 6 substantially forming the base of the hopper and two planar sections (5a, 5b, Fig 2) extending longitudinally at either end of the hopper and comprising a handle. The planar base section 5 sits on elongated runners, each runner comprising an L shape in cross section. The longitudinal planar base section is elevated above the elongated runners and forms a mortar laying space between the base section and an upper surface of the block on which the device is placed.
