Rock anchor with improved underreaming
A cutting finger 104 for a rock anchor (200, Fig 2A), having an upper section 106 having a cutting surface 110 and an upper coupling 108 for pivotably connecting to a main body 102 of the rock anchor and a lower section 112 having a lower coupling 114 for pivotably connecting to a base portion 116 of the rock anchor. The upper section and lower section are pivotably coupled to one another via a flaring pivot 118. The flaring pivot couples a lower portion of the upper section to an upper portion of the lower section. This allows for improved gripping of the rock mass and thereby to greater stability. A rock anchor comprising at least one such cutting finger and a method for installing the rock anchor are also disclosed.
