METHOD OF PRODUCING SEALED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND SEALED PART FORMATION APPARATUS
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a sealed honeycomb structure which is reduced in the number of steps in production of a sealed honeycomb structure and allows reduction of production costs.SOLUTION: A method of producing a sealed honeycomb structure includes a coordinate recognition step of recognizing a positional coordinate of a sealed-part cells 50, a hole opening sheet formation step of forming a through hole 40 of the same positional coordinate as that of the sealed-part cell in a coating sheet 25 for covering an end surface which has no adhesive layer so as to obtain a hole-opened sheet 27, a sheet covering step of arranging the hole opening sheet on the one end surface of a honeycomb structure to cover one end surface of the honeycomb structure, with the hole opening sheet and pressing the hole opening sheet toward the one end surface of the honeycomb structure, and a sealing material filling step of filling the sealed-part cell of the honeycomb structure with a slurry for formation of a sealed part, with the hole opening sheet pressed on the one end surface of the honeycomb structure to form a sealed part.
【課題】目封止ハニカム構造体の製造時の工程数が少なく、また、製造コストを削減することが可能な目封止ハニカム構造体の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】目封止部セル50の位置座標を認識する座標認識工程と、端面を被覆するためのものであり且つ粘着層を有さない被覆シート25に、目封止部セルの位置座標と同じ位置座標の貫通孔40を形成して孔開きシート27を得る孔開きシート作製工程と、孔開きシートをハニカム構造体の一方の端面上に配置し、孔開きシートによってハニカム構造体の一方の端面を被覆するとともに、孔開きシートをハニカム構造体の一方の端面に押し付けるシート被覆工程と、孔開きシートをハニカム構造体の一方の端面に押し付けた状態で、ハニカム構造体の目封止部セルに目封止部形成用スラリーを充填して目封止部を形成する目封止材充填工程と、を有する目封止ハニカム構造体の製造方法。【選択図】図6
