METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEALED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sealed honeycomb structure capable of forming a sealed part having a high porosity and a uniform sealed depth.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a sealed honeycomb structure comprising a sealed member preparation process of preparing a slurry-shaped sealed member. The sealed member preparation process includes: a powder mixing step where ceramic raw materials other than a thickner of respective powders or the like are mixed at a prescribed blending ratio; a thickner mixing step where the powder mixture obtained by the powder mixing step is added with a thickner, and mixing is performed; and a kneading step where the thickner-added mixture obtained by the thickner mixing step is added with water, and kneading is performed. In the sealed member prepared by the sealed member preparation process, from an edge part 4a of a cell 3 of the sealed honeycomb structure 1, without undergoing local ununiformity, a plurality of sealed parts 5a are formed at a fixed sealed depth.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】高気孔率、かつ、均一な目封止深さの目封止部を形成可能な目封止ハニカム構造体の製造方法を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】目封止ハニカム構造体の製造方法は、スラリー状の目封止部材を調製する目封止部材調製工程を具備し、目封止部材調製工程は、それぞれ粉体の増粘剤を除くセラミック原料等を所定の配合比率で混合する粉体混合工程と、粉体混合工程によって得られた粉体混合物に、増粘剤を添加して混合する増粘剤混合工程と、増粘剤混合工程によって得られた増粘剤添加混合物に、水を添加し混練する混練工程とを備える。目封止部材調製工程によって調製された目封止部材は、目封止ハニカム構造体1のセル3の端部4aから局所的に不均一となることなく、一定の目封止深さで複数の目封止部5aが形成される。【選択図】図1
