METHOD OF MODIFYING STEEL SLAG AND STEEL SLAG
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not the risk of hydration expansion can be reduced by modification, from the slag composition before modification.SOLUTION: Target steel slag whose estimated value of free lime quantity after modification, calculated on the basis of the composition of the steel slag, is equal to or lower than a specified quantity is solidified by quick chilling in a molten state under an oxidative condition. The steel slag may be oxidized and solidified by quick chilling by causing a high-speed gas containing oxygen to collide with the steel slag in a molten state; the steel slag in a molten state may be solidified by quick chilling by using a metal plate; or the steel slag in a molten state may be solidified by quick chilling with water. The procedure enables determination of whether or not the risk of hydration expansion can be reduced, before modification for solidifying free lime remaining in the steel slag without melting is conducted.
【課題】改質による水和膨張のリスクの低減可否を、改質前のスラグ組成により判断できること。【解決手段】製鋼スラグの組成に基づいて算出された改質後の遊離石灰量の推定値が所定量以下である製鋼スラグを対象として、溶融状態で酸化する条件にて急冷凝固させる。その際、溶融状態のスラグに高速の酸素を含むガスを衝突させることにより製鋼スラグを酸化、急冷凝固させてもよい。あるいは、溶融状態の製鋼スラグを金属板により急冷凝固させてもよい。あるいは、溶融状態の製鋼スラグを水により急冷凝固させてもよい。これにより、製鋼スラグ中に溶解せずに残留した遊離石灰を固定化する改質を実施する前に、水和膨張のリスクを低減できるか否かを判断できる。【選択図】なし
