MANUFACTURING METHOD OF CERAMIC HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a ceramic honeycomb structure that suppresses chips at the corner of an outer peripheral wall on the end face of a ceramic honeycomb structure when the ceramic honeycomb structure is transferred to the following drying step after applying a coating material to the outer peripheral face of a long and large ceramic honeycomb structure especially having a large outer diameter of 150 mm or more and a length of 200 mm or more.SOLUTION: After a ceramic honeycomb structure sandwiched between a first and a second holders has its outer peripheral face coated with a coating material and is then arranged so that its axial direction is nearly the vertical direction, it is taken out of the holders. The ceramic honeycomb structure is put on a retrieving plate member having a protrusion and an opening on the face on which the ceramic honeycomb structure is put, and then transferred.
【課題】 特に、外径が150mm以上、長さ200mm以上のような大口径かつ長尺な大型のセラミックハニカム体の外周面にコート材を塗布した後、セラミックハニカム体を次の工程の乾燥工程に移す際に、セラミックハニカム体の端面の外周壁角部に欠けが生じ難いセラミックハニカム構造体の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】 第1及び第2の保持部材に挟持されたセラミックハニカム体の外周面にコート材を塗布後、セラミックハニカム体の軸方向が略鉛直方向となるように配置した後、保持部材からセラミックハニカム体を取り出す方法において、セラミックハニカム体が載置される側の面に凸部を有し、開口部を有する板状取出部材に載置してセラミックハニカム体を搬送する。【選択図】 図1
