PRODUCTION METHOD OF CERAMIC HONEYCOMB FILTER
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a ceramic honeycomb filter where variation in the length of a sealing portion formed in a ceramic honeycomb structure is hardly caused.SOLUTION: In a production method of a ceramic honeycomb filter where the end surface of a ceramic honeycomb structure is pressed to a slurry in a container and a sealing portion is formed by introducing the slurry into a prescribed cell, the viscosity of the slurry is 0.1-10 Pa s, the container has a cylindrical inner shape and a flat bottom, a cylindrical jig is fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic honeycomb structure in the state of interposing a cylindrical elastic member, the end surface of the ceramic honeycomb structure is pressed to the slurry in the container at a pressure of 3.0×10-25.0×10MPa in the state of arranging an annular elastic member between the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical jig and the inner peripheral surface of the container, pressing is kept for a prescribed time, and then the sealing portion is formed by introducing the slurry into the prescribed cell.
【課題】セラミックハニカム構造体に形成された封止部の長さにばらつきが生じ難いセラミックハニカムフィルタの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】セラミックハニカム構造体の端面を容器中のスラリーに押圧し、所定のセル内にスラリーを導入して封止部を形成するセラミックハニカムフィルタの製造方法であって、スラリーの粘度が0.1〜10Pa・s、容器の内形状が円筒状で、かつ平坦な底部を有し、セラミックハニカム構造体の端面側の外周面に円筒状弾性部材を介在させた状態で円筒状治具を嵌着し、円筒状治具の外周面と前記容器の内周面との間に円環状弾性部材を配置した状態で、セラミックハニカム構造体の端面を容器中のスラリーに3.0?10-3〜25.0?10-3MPaの圧力で押圧し、所定時間保持した後、所定のセル内にスラリーを導入して封止部を形成する。【選択図】図1
