COMPACT PRODUCTION METHOD, INSULATOR FOR SPARK PLUG, AND SPARK PLUG
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate which comprises pressuring a raw material powder having as a main component, the inorganic composition powders to be a ceramic after burning, has no trouble such as shape losing and is excellent in machinability enabling large incision and speeding up despite a high strength-required material such as an intermediate to be an insulator for spark plug.SOLUTION: A photosensitive resin whose binding power between powdery particulates composing an intermediate CP1 deteriorates by receiving the irradiation of a prescribed light 110 is used as a binder included in the raw material powders PM. In a grinding process carried out from the intermediate CP1 made by using the binder to become a compact having a prescribed dimension, the surface of the intermediate CP1 is ground by a grind stone 62 while irradiating the surface of the CP1 with the prescribed light 110. Since the binding power between powdery particulates is deteriorated only on the surface of the intermediate in the process of grinding, the machinability of the intermediate is enhanced without shape losing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
【課題】焼成後にセラミックとなる無機組成物粉末を主成分とする原料粉末を加圧してなる中間体であって、これが、スパークプラグ用絶縁体をなすべき中間体のように、高強度が要求されるものであるがために、その被削性が悪くなるものでも、型崩れ等の問題もなく、しかも、大きい切り込みを可能とした被削性の優れた中間体として、研削の高速化を図る。【解決手段】原料粉末PMに含まれるバインダーに、所定の光110の照射を受けることによって、中間体CP1を構成する粉末粒子間の結合力が低下する感光性樹脂を使用する。このバインダーを用いてなる中間体CP1から、所定寸法の成形体となるまでの研削工程で、中間体CP1の表面に所定の光110を照射しながら、該表面を砥石62で研削する。研削過程では、その表面のみ、粉末粒子間の結合力を低下させることができるから、型崩れもなく被削性が高められる。【選択図】 図8
