PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weed preventing tool which excels in mass productivity due to a quite simple construction, does not require additional work, allows effective utilization of existing materials, is quite resource-saving, is capable of reliably and effectively preventing weed from growing in a gap between a side wall surface of a structure, such as a curbstone and a gutter, and a pavement material such as concrete and asphalt, or a gap in a joint of concrete pavements or soil-based pavements, and excels in workability and handling.SOLUTION: The weed preventing tool is made from synthetic resin or rubber, and has a long plate-like bottom plate part, an erected portion erected at one end part in a width direction of the bottom plate part to be in parallel with a longer direction of the bottom plate part, and a shielding part formed on the halfway in a height direction on an inner side surface of the erected part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
