PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caisson immersion method that enables simple execution of high-quality work for a caisson, and a friction cut structure.SOLUTION: A caisson immersion method includes: a first step of excavating ground along an outer shape of a cutting edge 3 provided at a lower end of a caisson 1 and immersing the caisson 1; and a second step of excavating the ground G while friction-cutting an outer periphery of the cutting edge 3 and immersing the caisson 1. In the second step, a plurality of jigs 6 for friction-cutting are protruded outward from the lower end of the cutting edge 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
