PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction damper capable of preventing local abrasion of a friction material and keeping damping force.SOLUTION: A friction damper 1 includes first and second plate bodies 6, 7 obtaining damping action by frictional force in relative movement, a fastening member 8 for fastening the first and second plate bodies 6, 7 in a direction to be close to each other, and first and second bearing plates 5, 4 respectively disposed between the fastening member 8 and the first or second plate body 6, 7, and transmitting pressing force of the fastening member to the first or second plate body 6, 7.
