PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a lamination rubber body and enable a slide supporter to be installed even in a narrow mounting space.SOLUTION: A seismic isolator 1 comprises: a lamination rubber support 10 comprising an upper member 11, a lower member 12, and lamination rubber bodies 13 present between the upper and lower members; and a slide supporting body 20 having an upper member 21 and a lower member 22 fixed to each of an upper structure 2 and a lower structure 3, a vertical characteristic adjusting part 24 for adjusting the vertical rigidity, a lamination rubber body 29 having a rigid layer and a rubber elastic layer that are alternatively laminated, a horizontal characteristic adjusting part 25 for adjusting a horizontal moving amount, a slide plate 23 fixed to the upper member 21 or the lower member 22, and a slide plate 30 fixed to the horizontal characteristic adjusting part 25 and slidably abutted against the slide plate 23, which are arranged side-by-side. The vertical characteristic adjusting part 24 has a lamination rubber body 26, a shearing pin 28 inserted into the lamination rubber body 26 to limit motion toward a horizontal direction, and a steel plate 27 laminated on the lamination rubber body 26, and design sinking quantities of the lamination rubber support 10 and the slide supporting body 20 show approximation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
