METHOD FOR JOINING METAL AND CARBON, AND JOINED BODY
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining metal and carbon where metal can be easily joined to carbon in a short time without using a binder, and a joined body.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for joining metal and carbon composed of: a first step where a porous carbon group, a metal foil group with a thickness of 50 microns or lower and/or metal foil powder are mixed to make a state where the metal foil group and/or the metal foil powder are clung around the porous carbon group is made, and the mixture is stored into a flexible sealed container enough in elastic properties; a second step where the air in the sealed container is drawn out so as to be a vacuum; and a third step where the vacuum state in the sealed container is released at once. Also provided is a joined body of metal and carbon having a structure where the metal foil group and/or the metal foil powder are pressure-joined or melt-joined to the outer surface of the porous carbon group, and the metal foil group and/or the metal foil powder are pressure-joined or melt-joined into the pores of the porous carbon group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
