PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM, ON-VEHICLE DEVICE, AND PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal authentication system, on-vehicle device, and portable terminal device that are capable of improving security of authentication.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device authentication system includes an on-vehicle device and a portable terminal device. The on-vehicle device transmits a request signal including a plurality of authentication signals having different degrees of signal strength. The portable terminal device receives the request signal; discriminates the plurality of authentication signals on the basis of the degrees of signal strength of the plurality of authentication signals included in the request signal; for each discriminated authentication signal, counts reception time of the authentication signal; and transmits an answer signal including information showing the counted reception time to the on-vehicle device. The on-vehicle device determines whether or not information showing reception time of an authentication signal is included in a received signal; and, when information showing reception time is included, determines whether or not the received signal is the answer signal from the portable terminal device on the basis of the information showing the reception time of the authentication signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
