PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device authentication system, an on-vehicle device, and a mobile terminal device that can improve the operability of authentication processing.SOLUTION: In a mobile terminal device authentication system, an on-vehicle device transmits a signal including a plurality of authentication signals set such that reception signal intensity is different from each other to an on-vehicle side transmission unit, and a mobile terminal device gives an instruction on the reception sensitivity characteristic of a mobile side reception unit on the basis of intensity values of the received authentication signals, and distinguishes the plurality of authentication signals received after the reception sensitivity characteristic of the mobile side reception unit is adjusted to the instructed reception sensitivity characteristic. An on-vehicle side control unit or mobile side control unit determines whether or not the mobile side reception unit has received a normal request signal in communication on the basis of determination results of the plurality of authentication signals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
