PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory composition that can improve the mechanical strength of a refractory.SOLUTION: A refractory composition comprises (A) component: a metal resin composite material 10 that is a complex of a metal particle (a1)1 and phenolic resin (a2)2 and has a metal atom-oxygen atom-carbon atom bond, (B) component: refractory aggregate. In the refractory composition, a metal constituting the metal particle (a1)1 is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of silver, copper, tin, nickel, iron, zinc, manganese and aluminum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
