PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized hydraulic power generating device of which maintenance can be easily carried out against dusts or foreign matters while restricting its cost.SOLUTION: A hydraulic generating device comprises: a braking force generating means for applying a braking force against rotation of a water turbine 1; and a control device 100 for varying a rotation speed of the water turbine 1 by controlling the braking force generating means so as to repeat increasing or decreasing of the braking force. Dusts or the like adhered to the water turbine blades are easily dropped by varying a rotating speed of the water turbine 1. It is preferable that the braking force generating means includes an electrical or mechanical or fluid-type braking device 12 for applying a braking force against a rotating shaft of the water turbine 1. In addition, it is preferable that the braking force generating means includes a power generator 3 for generating electricity through rotation of the water turbine 1 and the control device 100 increases or decreases the braking force by changing the electrical power taken out of the power generator 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
