DIMMER AND METHOD OF INSTALLING DIMMER
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmer capable of switching between a transparent state and a reflective state for infrared light.SOLUTION: This invention provides the dimmer comprising a first dimming control panel and a second dimming control panel movable relatively to the first dimming control panel. The first and second dimming control panels include polarizers, and the polarizers include a plurality of unit regions into which the polarizers are divided in a relative movement direction of the first and second dimming control panels, and the plurality of unit regions are divided to first to n-th groups in the order of arrangement in the relative movement direction, and transmission axes are parallel among unit regions belonging to one group, and transmission axes are not parallel among unit regions belonging to different groups, and the polarizers of the first and second dimming control panels are wire grid polarizers, and each of the wire grip polarizers includes: a transparent relief structure layer with recessed and projecting faces arrayed with a pitch within a range of 300 nm or more and 500nm or less and formed by a plurality of linear projections; and a metal layer provided on at least a part of the linear projections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
