PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure welding between tower sections.SOLUTION: A method for assembling a windmill tower, which is composed of a plurality of tower sections, comprises: a step of suspending an upper section above a lower section with the lower section upright and facing an upper end part of the lower section and a lower end part of the upper section; a step of adjusting the clearance between the lower end part of the upper section and the upper end part of the lower section within a prescribed range by vertically moving the upper section with respect to the lower section, in the state that a projection part, which is provided in one of the lower end part of the upper section or the upper end part of the lower section, is engaged with a receiving part, which is provided in the other one of the lower end part of the upper section or the upper end part of the lower section; and a step of jointing the lower end part of the upper section and the upper end part of the lower section by welding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
