PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping covering material for a cable that may be fitted readily on a cable, provides effective vibration damping performance to the cable and readily maintains the provided vibration damping performance.SOLUTION: A vibration damping covering material 1 for a cable of the present invention is a spirally wound belt-form covering material 1 for covering a surface of a cable, and the covering material 1 has a surface form that realizes vibration damping performance. The covering material 1 should desirably be made of a thermally shrinking material, and the covering material 1 should desirably have integrally formed covering material body 2 and a spiral protrusion 3 formed on a surface of the covering material body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
