PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely hoist a heavy demolition machine to an upper story of a building, and therefore reduce a demolition cost for the building.SOLUTION: With a building demolition method, a building 20 is demolished through a heavy machine transfer step for transferring a heavy demolition machine 1 to an upper story of the building 20, and lowering the heavy demolition machine 1 while demolishing the building 20 from the upper story toward a lower story. The heavy demolition machine transfer step includes: a heavy demolition machine preparation step in which a hoisting winch 5 is equipped on the heavy demolition machine 1; a drilling step in which a through-hole 24 is drilled through a floor 22 of a story above the floor 22 of the story on a top of a ceiling 27 of the story where the heavy demolition machine 1 is located, the through-hole allowing a wire 6 to be inserted therethrough; an opening step in which a passage hole 23 is opened beneath the through-hole 24 that enables the heavy demolition machine 1 to pass through, by destroying a part of the ceiling 27 with the heavy demolition machine 1; a wire insertion step in which the wire 6 of the hoisting winch 5 is inserted through the passage hole 23 and the through-hole 24; a wire fixing step in which a tip of the wire 6 is fixed on the upper story of the building 20; and a heavy machine hoisting step in which the wire 6 is wound by the hoisting winch 5, for hoisting the heavy demolition machine 1 and transferring to the upper floor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
