PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device capable of reducing friction between a clamping member and a holding member holding the clamping member.SOLUTION: Provided is a braking device for applying a braking force to a cord, which includes first and second clamping members that clamp the cord therebetween and a holding member holding the first clamping member, the first clamping member being configured to clamp the cord together with the second clamping member when moving relative to the holding member as the cord moves in its longitudinal direction, the braking device further including a friction reducing member disposed between an axial direction end face of the first clamping member and the holding member to reduce friction therebetween.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
