PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily make it feasible to apply or omit a smaller-sized damper.SOLUTION: A structure for a sliding bearing according to the present invention comprises a slide plate, and a slide member which has a slide contact surface coming into slide contact with a slide plate front surface of said slide plate. At least a part of said slide plate front surface and/or said slide contact surface has a steel plate, and a coat for coating the steel plate. Said coat contains a coat containing a crystalline laminar substance and a resin. The average film thickness of said coat is 10 nm to 10000 nm, and said crystalline layered material contains a layered double hydroxide expressed by the chemical formula [MM(OH)][A].zHO. A friction coefficient of said slide contact surface with respect to said slide plate surface is 0.05 to 0.15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
