PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader that can uniform light in a light guide having a corner part, and can conduct a display with the uniformed light surrounding a card reading unit.SOLUTION: A card reader has a card reading unit 20 at a front of a main body part 10, in which a light guide 30 to be provided so as to surround an area of the card reading unit 20, and a first light emission unit 25 and second light emission unit 26 projecting light to a light guide 30 are arranged in the main body part 10. The light guide 30 has: a corner part 33; and a first straight line part 34 and second straight line part 35 that are across the corner part 33, in which the first light emission unit 25 is arranged facing in a length direction relative to the first straight line part 34 via the corner part 33 of the light guide 30, and the second light emission unit 26 is on a more outer peripheral side than the first straight line part 34. The light guide 30 has: a first light guide path 36 that guides the light from the first light emission unit 25 to the corner part 33; and a second light guide path 37 that guides the light from the second light emission unit 26 to the corner part 33, in which a space part 38 is formed between either path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
