To provide an overturning prevention column that does not require much time for mounting work.SOLUTION: An overturning prevention column 1 for connecting a pile provided on the ground and a standing upright fence to prevent the fence from overturning, comprises: a telescopic column 3; an attachment portion 6 disposed at an upper end portion of the column 3 and attached to the fence; and a foot portion 2 disposed at a lower end portion of the column 3 and attached to the pile. The column 3 has: a pipe-shaped outer bar 3a; and an inner bar 3b a part of which is inserted in the outer bar 3a and slidable in the axial direction. The overturning prevention column 1 has, in the inner bar 3b or the outer bar 3a, switching means to switch a fixed state in which the inner bar 3b and the outer bar 3a are fixed so as not to be able to slide relative to each other and a releasing state in which the fixing is released so that the inner bar 3b and the outer bar 3a can slide relative to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
