To provide an airtight holding member capable of stably holding the airtightness of the underfloor provided with a base via a vibration control device on the foundation, and an airtight holding method using the airtight holding member.SOLUTION: An airtight holding member for maintaining airtightness of the underfloor provided with a base through a vibration control device on a foundation of a building provides a first plate portion fixed to an outside surface of a base forming an outer side of the building or an outer surface of a load bearing material formed on the outer side of the building than the outside surface of the base, and a second plate portion which intersects the first plate portion and is provided apart from the foundation. The second plate portion is in contact with a portion of the base bottom surface facing the foundation, and the second plate portion is provided with an elastic member formed extending toward the foundation, with a tip end portion being in contact with the foundation, and closing a gap between the foundation and the base.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
