To provide a hanging ladder which can be easily extended to use just by being hung and which can be easily shortened to store in a shortened storage state upon recovery at the end of use.SOLUTION: An telescopic hanging ladder is configured such that a plurality of ladder basic members 101 are prepared each of which, as a basic unit, includes a pair of cylindrical columns 110 and cross bars 122, the plurality of basic units are connected in series in a slidable manner in the axial direction of the cylindrical support 110 between the uppermost ladder basic member 101 to the lowermost ladder basic member 102, and a shortened storage state in which the ladder basic members 101 are contracted and an extended use state in which the ladder basic members 101 are expanded are provided. A telescopic operating body 150 is attached to the lowermost slidable ladder basic member 102 after passing through a hollow inside of the cylindrical column 110. Loosening the telescopic operating body 150 causes the lowermost slidable ladder basic member 102 to descend and pulling up the telescopic operating body causes the lowermost slidable ladder basic member 102 to ascend.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
