To provide a new handling wafer high in general purpose.SOLUTION: An alumina plate is used as a handling wafer of a semiconductor element. The alumina plate has linear line permeability at a wavelength of 350 to 450 nm of 80% or more and process strain exists in a range of 10 nm or more from a surface. The alumina plate can be manufactured through a process for preparing the alumina plate with linear permeability at wavelength of 350 to 450 nm of 80% or more in a thickness direction and a process for polishing the alumina plate at a state that pressure of 5 kgf/cmor more is added to a surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】汎用性の高い新規なハンドリングウエハを提供する。【解決手段】本明細書に開示するアルミナ板は、半導体素子のハンドリングウエハとして用いられる。そのアルミナ板は、厚み方向において、波長３５０〜４５０ｎｍにおける直線透過率が８０％以上であり、表面から１０ｎｍ以上の範囲に、加工ひずみが残存している。また、そのアルミナ板は、厚み方向において、波長３５０〜４５０ｎｍにおける直線透過率が８０％以上のアルミナ板を用意する工程と、表面に５ｋｇｆ／ｃｍ２以上の圧力を加えた状態でアルミナ板を研磨する工程を経て製造することができる。【選択図】図１
