To provide an image generation device for a work machine capable of improving efficiency and safety of work without relying on experiment and intuition of an operator.SOLUTION: An image generation device for a work machine 1 comprises a generation portion 41 which is disposed on an arm 142 along a direction surrounding the arm with a longer direction of the arm provided in a work machine 100 as a center and which generates a synthetic image IM including images of attachments and a periphery thereof using a plurality of images Im-1 to Im-5 which a plurality of cameras 2-1 to 2-5 whose optical axes are set toward the attachment (a bucket 143) attached to the arm photographed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
