To provide a dimming unit with which it is possible to increase the waterproofness of a dimming sheet.SOLUTION: A dimmer unit 10 comprises: a dimming sheet 20 provided with a dimming layer that includes a liquid crystal composition and a pair of transparent electrode layers sandwiching the dimming layer; and a support substrate 40 having a larger outer shape than the dimming sheet 20. The dimmer unit 10 further includes a waterproof part 50 that includes a cover part extending along an outer edge of the dimming sheet 20 and covering the end faces of the dimming sheet 20 on the support substrate 40. The dimming sheet 20 is attached to the support substrate 40 while the dimming sheet 20 is located inside of the support substrate 40 in a plan view facing the surface of the dimming sheet 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
