To provide an authentication system, an authentication method, and a key information issuing device, capable of improving security.SOLUTION: A vehicle 1 comprises a shared system 9 that issues key information Dk to a portable terminal 8 to perform authentication between the portable terminal 8 and an authentication device 11 and, on the basis of its authentication result, permits activation of the vehicle 1. The shared system 9 comprises: a first calculation unit 31 that on the basis of secret information Ds input at the time of issuing the key information Dk to the portable terminal 8, generates the key information Dk on the portable terminal 8 side; and a second calculation unit 35 that on the basis of the secret information Ds input at the time of the authentication between the portable terminal 8 and the authentication device 11, generates the key information Dk on the authentication device 11 side. The shared system 9 also comprises an authentication unit 33 for performing authentication using the key information Dk on the portable terminal 8 side and the key information Dk on the authentication device 11 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
