The toilet seat device includes: a toilet seat for a user to sit thereon; a light emitting unit provided with a light emitting element that radiates light; a light receiving unit provided with a light-receiving element for receiving light; and a control unit that controls the energization of the light-emitting element and the application of the voltage to the light-receiving element. The control unit is configured to send a control instruction to the light-receiving element to open an electronic shutter and energize the light-emitting element to perform a light reception control capable of receiving reflection light from feces, and after starting the execution of one light reception control, control the interval to the execution of the light-receiving control next to the one light reception control to be 0.2 milliseconds or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 31
