To suppress collection of unnecessary data except for data of feces.SOLUTION: A toilet seat device in an embodiment is a toilet seat device to be mounted on an upper part of a toilet bowl in which a bowl part for receiving excrement is formed, and comprises: a toilet seat on which a user is seated; a light emission part for radiating light; a light reception part for receiving light; and a control part for controlling light reception by the light reception part and radiation by the light emission part, in each of a measurement waiting mode for detecting existence of an object to a prescribed reference state, a determining mode for determining whether the object is feces, and a measurement mode for measuring the feces, on the basis of data received by the light reception part. In the measurement waiting mode, if the object is detected, the control unit shifts the mode to the determining mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
