To provide a structural material having an excellent aesthetic appearance and use feeling and capable of constituting various articles having various patterns, a structure using the structural material, and a manufacturing method of the structural material.SOLUTION: A structural material includes a plurality of rod members having rigidity, and a string member that connects adjacent rod members so that they can be separated from each other by a predetermined interval. Each of the plurality of rod members is composed of a set of rod pieces bonded to each other with the string member sandwiched therebetween. The plurality of rod members may be composed of a felt fusion body including a heat-fusion fiber. Further, each of the plurality of rod members may have a substantially U shape and may have an interval between both ends different from that of the other rod members.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
